    Sales-led survey vs sworn expertise

Not all visits are equal. Here is what changes when the diagnosis is independent.

    Free sales visit

The diagnosis is tied to the sale

    • Performed by a vendor sales rep
    • Solution proposed = in-house catalogue
    • No systematic standardised measurement
    • Report not opposable to third parties
    • Risk of over-treatment (injection, tanking)
    HUMINUS sworn expertise

    The diagnosis is independent

    • Performed by an independent sworn expert mandated by HUMINUS
    • Cause identified objectively, independent from any work to be carried out
    • Hygrometric measurements + IR thermography
    • Report admissible to insurance / manager / court
    • Priority-ranked, costed recommendations
    8 types of damp diagnosed

Identifying the right type avoids useless work

Each damp pathology has its signature. Confusing them leads to repairs that do not last. The sworn expert we mandate tells them apart methodically.

    Rising damp

Capillary rise from foundations. Salt-petre, blistered paint at 1–1.5 m above floor.

    Condensation

Water vapour settling on cold surfaces. Misted windows, mould in corners.

    Lateral infiltration

Water passing through a façade or roof. Localised stains, damp plaster.

    Driving rain

South-west exposed façade, damaged joints, porous brick. Diffuse stains.

    Hygroscopic damp

Mineral salts that capture air moisture. Returns after repainting.

    Thermal bridge

Insulation discontinuity. Localised condensation, stains on slabs or lintels.

    Ventilation / MVHR fault

Blocked vents, insufficient flow. Saturated air, generalised musty smell.

    Accidental damp

Water damage, network leak, claim. Sudden onset, expertise for insurance.

The HUMINUS method step by step

A reproducible approach, documented at each stage.
